Mowing the Lawn Improves Libido Levels of Men

The pharmaceutical companies have made billions touting the youth-enhancing benefits of testosterone boosting and libido boosting drugs. But there may be a cheaper, less clinical solution to low testosterone levels and the low libido that is a by-product of low testosterone. Take for example, the testosterone benefits of mowing your own lawn rather than having the neighborhood teenager do the work.

First, spending one hour outside in the sun raises testosterone levels. Researchers at the Medical University of Graz in Austria found men with more vitamin D per milliliter of blood had much more testosterone circulating than those with less. Vitamin D is produced in the body after exposure to sunlight and can also be obtained from eating oily fish and meat. Testosterone levels in men’s blood rise accordingly with doses of vitamin D.

Ad Brand, spokesman of the Sunlight Research Forum in Veldhoven in the Netherlands, said: “Men who ensure their body is at least sufficiently supplied with vitamin D are doing good for their testosterone levels and their libido among other things.”

The new findings back up previous research that found an hour of sunshine can boost a man’s testosterone by 69 percent.

Testosterone is the most important male sexual hormone. In males it is mainly responsible for the formation and maintenance of the typical male sexual characteristics, sperm production and the controlling of male desire.

Second, the act of mowing the lawn engages the man in physical exercise. The Mayo Clinic lists exercise as one of the best natural ways to increase testosterone production.

So there you have it, mowing the lawn gets a man exercising in the sun for 1 hour which research has shown increases the testosterone levels of men. This research joins a growing natural testosterone boosting push that emphasizes natural testosterone boosting solutions including the use of natural libido boosting herbs and minerals.
